Advanced Training

header image

For over a decade, we have provided training in the assessment and management of threats and safety hazards for the Central Intelligence Agency, the U.S. Supreme Court Police, the U.S. Marshals Service, the Federal Reserve Board, the FBI, the Los Angeles District Attorneys’ Office, the San Diego District Attorney’s Office, the Attorney General’s Office, numerous local police agencies, and University police departments. We have also, of course, provided training to private industry. At this program, for the first time, we combined training concepts from a number of disciplines. Our Academies are comprised of attendees from law enforcement, government, schools, corporate security, legal, employee assistance, human resources executives, and mental health experts.

As practitioners who have managed more than 43,000 cases, the information we provide is the real thing. Each of the presenters will discuss the most advanced concepts for predicting violent behavior and link each one to practical case management. Drawing from Gavin de Becker’s bestselling books on security and intuition, which are published in fourteen languages, the core issues of threat assessment and management will be discussed. Presentations include topics such as managing victim fear, the warning signs of violence and pre-incident indicators, the impact of terrorism, intuition, and bomb threats.

UCLA Conference Center

The Advanced Threat Assessment and Management Academy is held at the UCLA Conference Center, Lake Arrowhead, California. Lake Arrowhead is located in the San Bernardino Mountains, at 5000 ft elevation, about 2 hours driving time from Los Angeles International Airport.
