Tom Taylor

Tom joined our firm after decades as a Nationally recognized expert in public figure protection.  He served four years as President of the National Governor’s Security Association, and 8 years as Commander of the Governor’s Security Division in Missouri.

He has served key roles on protective operations for the Pope, Mikhail Gorbachev, Margaret Thatcher, Dr. Henry Kissinger, and every U.S. President since Gerald Ford.  He has handled protective assignments in Russia, Japan, Korea, Italy, Puerto Rico, China, Canada, Turkey, Greece, Ireland, India, and the Philippines.

Following the September 11 attacks, Tom was selected as the Anti-Terrorism Coordinator for the Missouri State Patrol.

Tom co-authored Just2Seconds, a book based upon the study of more than 1400 incidents of public figure attack.  Tom’s book, Dodging Bullets - A Strategic Guide to World-Class Protection, was published in 2000 by the Institute of Police Technology and Management (IPTM).  He has written two novels on protection, Mortal Shield published by SEMO Press and Armored Men published by

Tom attended the CIA’s Threat Management Conference, at which he met Gavin de Becker, beginning a 17-year association in the study and practice of protection for at-risk people.
